Delegates visit the Exhibition |
At the opening ceremony, a representative of a Hanoi handicraft production enterprise said that it was one of the units participating in the 2023 Trade Promotion and Craft Village Delegation in Laos in April 2023 and visited the raw material growing area. After a period of research, the representative of this enterprise hoped that the Vientiane Department of Industry and Trade would support connecting with local enterprises to develop raw material areas in Laos to serve the production of handicrafts with an area of about 100 - 200 hectares.
Talking to reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper on the sidelines of the event, handicraft expert Vu Huy Thieu - assessed that the thematic exhibition will help customers access products in a concentrated way. A showroom here will gather many craft villages, customers do not have to go far and all the products have been selected, the quintessence of the craft villages.
This is an opportunity to introduce craft villages, production capacity, and artisans, because visual information is always more vivid and better than information through images or newspapers. On that basis, customers can approach and go down to craft villages and production facilities.
Regarding the raw material area for handicraft products in Laos, Mr. Vu Huy Thieu said that with a large area of land, many raw materials have not been utilized or do not know how to use them. Therefore, through the cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, we can take advantage of this raw material area. However, it is necessary to research varieties, planting techniques, and preliminary processing techniques. Then, we will have a commercial source of raw materials to produce quality goods.
