According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the International Young Informatics Talent Competition is held annually to develop digital skills and IT capacity for students at all levels.
The contest is jointly organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and IIG Vietnam Education Organization - an international IT testing and assessment unit.

The 2024-2025 school year is the second year of the competition with outstanding scale and quality. In the preliminary round, the competition attracted nearly 50,000 contestants from nearly 1,000 schools, an increase of nearly 60% compared to the previous season.

The contest, launched in December 2024, attracted a large number of students at all levels to participate. In the preliminary round, more than 3,400 students participated, of which more than 80% met international standards. The final round gathered nearly 1,000 students at all levels, many of whom achieved a perfect score of 1000/1000.
Speaking at the closing and award ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong emphasized that the contest not only recognized achievements, but also contributed to concretizing Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
According to Mr. Cuong, this school year, Hanoi will have many activities to continue promoting educational innovation associated with digital transformation to create a breakthrough in improving the quality of education, including applying artificial intelligence in management, career counseling and personalizing the learning process, helping teachers and students access advanced and modern educational methods; moving towards forming a "smart school" model.
