Ha Tinh: Construction of a memorial project for Hero Phan Dinh Giot begins

The program aims to respond to the policy of planting one billion trees "For a green Vietnam" launched by the Government; Towards the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the sacrifice of People's Armed Forces Hero Phan Dinh Giot (March 13, 1954 - March 13, 2024); 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024).

Speaking at the program, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) Dang Quoc Khanh said: "After 3 years of implementing the Project to plant one billion trees, the whole country has planted nearly 770 million new trees with a total mobilized capital of nearly 9,500 billion VND. To implement the Tet tree planting program, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Ha Tinh province chose Cam Xuyen district - a locality with full natural conditions, diverse natural landscapes, many hills, mountains, rivers, lakes, plains and coastal strips to implement".

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh called on all levels, sectors and people to enthusiastically participate in tree planting and afforestation; raise awareness and take effective measures to protect forests, prevent deforestation, forest burning and illegal forest exploitation; increase investment, apply science and technology, create support mechanisms and encourage sustainable forest economic development.

At the program, the Organizing Committee presented 70 gifts to the family of Hero Phan Dinh Giot and policy beneficiaries and meritorious people in Cam Xuyen district; presented 30 bicycles and gifts to students in difficult circumstances with good academic achievements; presented 120,000 casuarina trees, 300 Bauhinia trees, 1,000 plastic lanes to build the "Model of a people's market to reduce plastic waste" to Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union, Cam Xuyen district and Cam Quan commune.

Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union presented a solar power line worth 125 million VND and 160 environmental protection trash bins worth 160 million VND to districts, towns, city unions, and affiliated unions; presented preferential capital to support youth in starting a business worth 1 billion VND... The total resources presented at the program were over 4 billion VND.

On February 25, leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ha Tinh province, delegates, youth union members, and local people planted 300 Bauhinia trees in Cam Quan commune and planted 120,000 casuarina trees to block waves in coastal communes of Cam Xuyen district.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment coordinated with Ha Tinh province to start construction of a memorial project for People's Armed Forces Hero Phan Dinh Giot.

The project was built on the foundation of the house where Hero Phan Dinh Giot was born and raised; Including the following items: a 3-room wooden church, a reception and exhibition house, a garden, a renovated village well landscape, a parking lot and other auxiliary works. The project has a total estimated investment of about 20 billion VND, mobilized from socialized sources.

The project has been started with the meaning of propagating and educating the young generation and people about the revolutionary tradition of the homeland and country; practically aiming to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and commemorate the 70th anniversary of the sacrifice of People's Armed Forces Hero Phan Dinh Giot.
