Ha Tinh collects more than 47.3 billion VND from anti-smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods

Steering Committee 389 of Ha Tinh province coordinated with functional forces to detect and handle 2,852 violations of smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, and trade fraud with a total fine and tax collection of over 47.3 billion VND.

On September 13, 2022, the National Steering Committee 389 issued Plan No. 92/KH-BCĐ389 on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods on border routes, sea areas and inland areas. Accordingly, the Steering Committee 389 of Ha Tinh province has proactively disseminated, developed and implemented a plan suitable to the actual situation in the province.

Steering Committee 389 of Ha Tinh province also promptly issued documents directing functional forces to proactively fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the province such as: plan to fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods during the peak of Lunar New Year 2023; strengthen control of business activities, transportation of animals and animal products; strengthen management of production, business and transportation of fake drugs, drugs of unknown origin; prevent smuggling and illegal transportation of poultry and poultry products smuggled from abroad into Vietnam...

Following the direction of the Central Government, Steering Committee 389 of Ha Tinh province has directed departments, branches and Steering Committee 389 of districts, cities and towns to integrate professional work with the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; proactively grasp the price developments, supply and demand of goods, and the amount of goods stored by business units, especially price-stabilized goods, to detect urgent and prominent issues and have timely solutions; regularly inspect and control the acts of transporting and trading in prohibited and smuggled goods. At the same time, propaganda work is enhanced; mobilizing the active participation of departments, branches and sectors across the province.

The Economic Police Department of Ha Tinh Police coordinated with other units to detect two cars with Lao license plates transporting veterinary drugs of unknown origin across the border in October 2023.

After more than 1 year of implementing Plan No. 92/KH-BCĐ389 of the National Steering Committee 389, the functional forces in Ha Tinh province have detected, arrested and handled 2,852 violations with a total fine and tax collection of over 47.3 billion VND. Of which, 601 cases were of illegal trading and transportation of prohibited and smuggled goods; 2,191 cases of trade fraud and tax fraud; 60 cases of counterfeit goods and intellectual property violations.
