HAGL meets all 'dead-end' opponents
The 2-1 victory over The Cong Viettel in round 22 of V-League 2024 - 2025 has helped HAGL get closer to the safety threshold. The mountain town team is 10 points ahead of Da Nang Club (bottom of the table) and 8 points ahead of Binh Dinh Club (play-off). If they beat Nam Dinh Club in this round, HAGL will almost certainly stay in V-League next season.
With a relatively safe position, HAGL is the team with the opportunity to decide the relegation race. Because in the last 3 matches, coach Le Quang Trai and his team will meet Da Nang (round 24), SLNA (round 25) and Quang Nam (round 26).

Da Nang FC is at the bottom of the table with 17 points, SLNA FC is 12th with 20 points, and Quang Nam is 11th with 22 points. These three teams, along with Binh Dinh FC, must collect every point in the remaining rounds to hope to participate in the V-League next season. If 27 points is considered a successful relegation, Da Nang needs 10 more points, Binh Dinh is 8 points short, SLNA and Quang Nam need 7 and 5 more points respectively.
"The joy of victory should only be immediate today, tomorrow there is still a lot of work to prepare for the remaining matches," said coach Le Duc Tuan after the 3-1 victory over Binh Dinh in round 22. Coach Tran Minh Chien, who was appointed to replace Mr. Bui Doan Quang Huy to lead Binh Dinh Club, shared: "The whole team is determined to overcome difficulties, helping the martial arts land football continue to be at the top of Vietnamese football. We believe that if we play to our full potential, Binh Dinh team will achieve the goal."
Among these 4 teams, Da Nang, SLNA and Quang Nam clubs are very familiar with... the atmosphere of relegation racing. Binh Dinh club is somewhat weaker, having just finished second last season, but now has fallen into a "life and death" race.
Attitude and level
Looking at the results of the internal matches in the lower half of the V-League, it can be affirmed that the difference in level between the teams is not significant.
The teams all share the same fate of being thin, not physically fit, and not having any special tactics. For example, Binh Duong Club, despite having invested heavily, coach Anh Duc frankly admitted that his players only run until the 60th minute before getting cramps, and by the 70th minute... run out of battery.

The factor that makes the difference lies in the attitude of the team competing for relegation. First of all, it is the attitude of the relegation team. With a greater desire, Da Nang Club won against Binh Dinh in the reverse final. Spirit is an important key to open the door to "survival", that is the reason why the bottom teams such as Da Nang Club, SLNA, or most recently Binh Dinh chose to change their head coach. Because a new coach means bringing new vitality, creating an immediate mental effect.
However, the attitude of teams that are about to run out of goals like HAGL is also very important. When the danger has passed, will the mountain town team choose to play fiercely with this team, but... slack off with another team? Not only HAGL, the above question can be asked for many teams that are out (or about to run out) of relegation risk like Hai Phong Club or Thanh Hoa Club. Is it possible to choose matches to play, choose opponents to exert strength or... relax? Especially when for a long time, fans are no longer unfamiliar with rumors about the "love affairs" between V-League teams!?
With great influence over the teams competing for relegation, HAGL's determination will decide the most watched game in V-League at the moment.
