Five days before the date of military service registration, the commune-level Military Command, agency, or organization shall send the decision calling for military service registration to the citizen.

After receiving the decision, citizens register for military service online or directly at the commune-level Military Command.

Within 1 day, the commune-level Military Command guides citizens to fill out a self-declaration form for health, registers citizen information on the list of male citizens who are 17 years old in the year, the list of citizens ready to join the army, and transfers the military service registration certificate to citizens immediately after registration.

The Commune Military Command synthesizes the results and reports to the Commune People's Committee Chairman and the Regional Defense Command. The Regional Defense Command synthesizes the results and reports to the Hanoi Capital Command, the Ho Chi Minh City Command, and the Provincial Military Command .

Regarding registration for additional military service, the dossier includes: documents related to changes in job position, educational level, professional qualifications, health status and other information related to military service.

Five days before the date of change in job position, educational level, professional qualifications, health status and other information related to military service, citizens must register online or register directly at the commune-level Military Command.

Within 1 day, the commune-level Military Command will carry out additional military service registration; amend changed information of citizens who have registered for military service.

Regarding military service registration when changing residence or place of work or study, the dossier includes: a letter of introduction for military service registration transfer or a letter of introduction for reserve soldier transfer; a certificate of military service registration; documents confirming the legal change of residence or a decision of the head of the agency or organization on changing to a new place of work or study.

Citizens who have registered for military service when changing their place of residence or place of work or study must register for military service online or register at the commune-level Military Command.

Within 1 day, the commune-level Military Command will complete procedures for citizens to register for military service transfer, issue a letter of introduction for military service registration transfer or a letter of introduction for reserve soldiers transfer.

Regarding temporary military service registration, the documents include: military service registration certificate. Citizens who have registered for military service and are away from their place of residence or place of work or study for 3 months or more must register for temporary military service online, or register directly at the commune-level Military Command.

Within 5 days from the date of returning to their place of residence, citizens who have registered for temporary military service must re-register online or at the commune-level Military Command.

Within 1 day, the commune-level Military Command will carry out procedures for temporary military service registration; add information to the list of citizens ready to join the army or the list of reserve soldiers; create a list of citizens registering for temporary military service or re-register citizens (in case citizens return).
