The two most special teams at the 2026 World Cup

Two countries on President Donald Trump's US entry ban list won tickets to the 2026 World Cup.

After the qualifying round on the morning of November 19, the 2026 World Cup has determined 42 out of 48 teams participating in the biggest football festival on the planet. Curacao, Cape Verde, Jordan and Uzbekistan all won historic tickets for the first time.

But that joy comes with a question mark over the cases of Iran and Haiti. These two countries are on the list of complete entry bans under the executive order of US President Donald Trump in June.

Iran topped the second round of Asian qualifiers and made its seventh appearance at the World Cup. However, the US denied permission for a delegation to attend the draw on December 5. Haiti, which secured a ticket after a 2-0 win over Nicaragua on the morning of November 19, is also among the countries banned from entry.

However, according to FIFA regulations, athletes participating in international sporting events such as the World Cup will be exempt from the ban, including coaches and relatives. Therefore, this issue can be resolved satisfactorily.

The 2026 World Cup is expected to sell more than 6 million tickets. FIFA President Gianni Infantino affirmed: "America welcomes the world . This will be the greatest and most influential World Cup in history."
