However, Tevez shared that he did it all for his family. Sharing on Ole , Tevez said that instead of keeping it for himself, he asked his agent to use the money to buy 15 houses, helping to move his family and relatives out of the Fuerte Apache slum, a poor area in Buenos Aires.

"I don't want to keep the money, I just want to make sure 15 families, including my brothers and uncles, have a better life," Tevez shared. With about 60 members in his extended family, Tevez's decisions show that he plays football not only for fame but also for the future of the next generation.

Tevez admitted that he risked his career and accepted all criticism to go to China to play for money.

In 2016, Tevez controversially moved to Shanghai Shenhua in China for a record salary of $40 million a year. He only played there for a year before returning to Boca Juniors.

With the Chinese football market booming at the time, Tevez took the opportunity to amass wealth, not for himself, but to support his extended family. He accepted a career setback, living in a foreign land where he “didn’t feel comfortable”, but earning enough money to change his family line.
