The Vietnam U22 team returned to Hanoi on the afternoon of November 19 after participating in the CFA Team China - Panda Cup 2025 International Friendly Tournament in Chengdu (China).
The 1-0 victory over U22 China, along with two losses to U22 Uzbekistan and U22 Korea with the same score of 0-1, are valuable gains for young Vietnamese players in the final preparation stage for SEA Games 33.
The Vietnam U22 team will gather again in Ba Ria with the direct training of Coach Kim Sang Sik. Acting Head Coach Dinh Hong Vinh will not attend this gathering as well as the SEA Games 33 campaign due to personal work.
The U22 players who are not with their home clubs to compete in the round of 16 of the 2025-2026 National Cup will gather first in Ba Ria on November 23. The other 11 players will gather on November 24 after the end of the round of 16 of the National Cup on November 23.
They are Viktor Le (Hong Linh Ha Tinh), Dinh Bac, Ly Duc, Minh Phuc (Hanoi Police), Khuat Van Khang, Cong Phuong, Dang Tuan Phong (The Cong - Viettel ), Nhat Minh (Hai Phong), Quoc Viet (Ninh Binh), goalkeeper Nguyen Tan and Quoc Cuong (Ho Chi Minh City Police).
With the ligament injury that key midfielder Nguyen Van Truong suffered at the Panda Cup 2025 and is unlikely to recover in time, coach Kim Sang Sik may add another midfielder in this final training session.
According to the plan, the U22 Vietnam team will practice in Ba Ria from November 25 to 30. On the afternoon of November 30, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will move to Ho Chi Minh City to rest before leaving for Thailand at 11:35 am on December 1.
After arriving at Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok) in the early afternoon of December 1, the U22 Vietnam team will continue flying to Hat Yai Airport (Songkhla) at 6:30 p.m.
Because the flight arrives at 8:00 p.m., coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will rest before having their first training session in Songkhla on the afternoon of December 2 to prepare for the opening match with U22 Laos taking place 2 days later.
