According to the Provincial Forest Protection Department, from the beginning of February to April 14th, Hai Duong province planted 437,391 scattered trees, including timber trees and shade trees, achieving 76.1% of the year's plan.

Three districts exceeded their scattered tree planting targets: Nam Sach with 18,100 trees (20.7% overstay), Binh Giang with 32,000 trees (3.2% overstay), and Tu Ky with 50,200 trees (0.4% overstay). Thanh Ha district completed its scattered tree planting plan with 15,000 trees.

The progress of scattered tree planting is rapid because most districts, towns, and cities have assigned targets to each agency, unit, and locality. Localities are actively promoting and encouraging businesses to participate in and support the tree planting movement...

Along with planting scattered trees as in previous years, this year the Provincial People's Committee launched a reforestation campaign to restore forest areas damaged by Typhoon No. 3. However, reforestation is progressing quite slowly. Currently, the entire province has only planted 151 hectares of post-harvest and replacement forests, reaching only 37.7% of the year's plan.

Reforestation progress in Hai Duong is slow due to the lack of rain.

The reason is that since the beginning of the year, the Hai Duong area has experienced little rain and prolonged dry weather, which is unfavorable for reforestation. Increased investment costs for reforestation due to rising prices of materials and seedlings have discouraged forest owners and households with production forest land from investing in reforestation.

The Forest Protection Department recommends that the reforestation season officially begins in April. The Forest Protection Units of Chi Linh City and Kinh Mon town need to actively urge forest owners, households, and individuals to proactively prepare seedlings to take advantage of cloudy, rainy days for planting.

On February 13th, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province launched the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh" simultaneously throughout the province. Hai Duong aims to plant nearly 700,000 trees of various types in 2025 (290,000 scattered trees, 163.4 hectares of post-logging forest with 260,000 trees, and over 255 hectares of replacement forest with 148,000 trees).
