Comrade Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City, Head of the Steering Committee of the City Party Committee chaired the meeting.

According to the report of the Department of Home Affairs of Hai Phong city (the standing agency of the Steering Committee) and related units, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in Hai Phong city is being actively implemented.

In particular, the city and communes, wards and special zones have issued documents directing and implementing election work; established a City Election Committee consisting of 31 members, 20 days earlier than the law's regulations; 100% of communes, wards and special zones have established Election Committees.

In general, cadres, party members and people positively assessed the city's preparations for the election of National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. The work of ensuring security, politics , and social order and safety was closely and proactively implemented...

Regarding the next task, Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau requested that along with the early completion of the personnel plan to submit to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for consideration and approval according to authority, it is necessary to strengthen the work of grasping the situation, orienting and implementing propaganda work to serve the election to ensure quality and effectiveness; prepare well for ensuring funding for organizing the election, resolving difficulties and problems of localities; deploy solutions to apply information technology, digital transformation in performing election tasks, ensuring election principles and innovation, creativity, suitable to implementation practices...

According to Resolution No. 1891/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated November 10, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Hai Phong city is expected to elect 19 National Assembly deputies, including 9 deputies introduced by central agencies and organizations and 10 deputies introduced by localities. The expected number of deputies to the City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term is 85 deputies; the People's Council at the commune level is 2,373 deputies.
