Hai Phong is one of the three localities with the highest results in mobilizing support for the Cuban people in the country.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has just held a ceremony to summarize the Program to support the Cuban people and to award and perform the winning work of the Campaign to compose the song "Vietnam - Cuba, forever echoing the song of solidarity and friendship".

The program will be deployed nationwide for 65 days (August 13 - October 16, 2025). Immediately after the launching ceremony, the program received support from a large number of cadres, party members, civil servants, officers, soldiers, students, workers in various fields, especially the majority of people. After only 30 hours of launching, the program received 65 billion VND (2.6 million USD), reaching the initial minimum target. By the end of October 16, 2025, the total amount of donations reached 615 billion VND (nearly 25 million USD), nearly 10 times the initial target.

At the Closing Ceremony, the Hai Phong City Red Cross Society was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for its outstanding achievements in implementing the Program to support the Cuban people with more than 11.8 billion VND donated, far exceeding initial expectations and being one of the 3 localities with the highest mobilization results in the country.

To achieve such positive results, it is the attention and close direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross, the City People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, the Chairman of the City People's Committee personally, along with the active participation of all levels, branches, communes, wards, and special zones; the effective coordination of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the City Union of Friendship Organizations; especially the proactive consultation, organization, deployment, and implementation of the City Red Cross; in addition, communication work was carried out professionally, diversely, combining the city's press agencies, television and social networks... contributing to the success of the Campaign.

The campaign has ended, but the traditional and special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba - an exemplary and rare relationship in modern international relations - continues to be consolidated and strengthened. Thereby, it also demonstrates the solidarity, loyalty and consistency of the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Phong city towards the brotherly Cuban people, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025)./.
