Speaking with Dan Tri , a source at the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh confirmed that the images shared online are indeed of the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater.
"This design has been approved and has recently won an architectural award. It is necessary to have a comprehensive and professional view. It is not advisable to make opposing opinions based on just a few photos," the source said.
According to the reporter's investigation, the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater project was recently awarded the Silver Prize by the Vietnam Association of Architects at the 15th National Architecture Award (2022 - 2023) in the Public Architecture category.
The project was designed by three architects Ngo Trung Hai, Tran Hoang Hai Nam, and Tran Anh Son.

The jury assessed: "The theater is not large in scale, but with the nature of Quan Ho folk songs, it was built in Bac Ninh city, the cradle of Kinh Bac culture, which inspired a special design idea for the project.
The architecture of Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater is creative, quite impressive, deeply expressive, the shape is inspired by the traditional communal house roof, with a 2-layer covering shell, the outer bamboo strip has motifs from Ba Tam conical hats.

Regarding space, the project uses simple but sophisticated materials and colors, inspired by traditional Vietnamese patterns and motifs. The design reflects the breath of the times, but the structures and details are inspired by structures and details in traditional architecture."
According to Architecture Magazine, the project appears as a contemporary communal house roof incorporating familiar structures, details, and proportions of local architecture. The solutions all aim to recreate a "quan ho cultural space" in the Quan ho Bac Ninh Ancestral Folk Song Complex.
The interior is recreated in a completely traditional style. The main performance stage space is stylized from the village gate architecture to lead the audience's emotions into immersing in a space imbued with Quan Ho.

The seating system is different in the design of theater and cinema spaces when there is a tea table between two seats.
Instead of modern chairs, the consulting unit proposed the solution of using Dong Ky chairs - one of the furniture products from the traditional craft village of Bac Ninh.
The consulting unit designed in a more contemporary language, contributing to introducing domestic and foreign tourists to the materials and products of the craft village.
