The Mai King Temple Festival in Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province takes place on February 22-24 (January 13-15) on a provincial scale, with the wrestling festival being an important highlight, always attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate and cheer.

Mai Hac De, real name Mai Thuc Loan, was originally from Mai Phu commune, Loc Ha district ( Ha Tinh ). Orphaned at a young age, Mai Thuc Loan grew up to be more intelligent and strong, a famous wrestler in Sa Nam region (present-day Nam Dan district, Nghe An).
