On August 4, Working Group No. 3 of the National Assembly 's Thematic Supervision Delegation "Implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection since the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 took effect" surveyed the Man Xa Craft Village Industrial Cluster and Yen Phong Industrial Park.
Joining the working group to survey the 400,000-ton slag dump in Man Xa craft village, Head of the Working Group, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Le Quang Manh acknowledged that the problem of solid waste treatment in craft villages is still a major bottleneck. Currently, in Man Xa, there are still about 400,000 tons of slag left. According to the provincial leaders, the treatment is difficult because the Ministry of Construction has not issued norms and unit prices to guide localities in implementation.
Man Xa is the largest aluminum recycling village in the North, with more than 300 households producing aluminum. Aluminum casting brings high income to the people, but at the same time, it has also left many serious environmental consequences over the years.

Next, at Yen Phong Industrial Park, the delegation worked with Orion Vina Food Company Limited. The company representative said that the factory has been in operation since 2009 with an area of 115,000m², currently operating 25 production lines, reaching a scale of 361 million USD/year. In the field of environmental protection, Orion Vina has invested in a standard wastewater treatment system; installed a solar power system and built a central energy monitoring room - expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2026. The company is also gradually converting from using fossil energy to biomass, switching from LPG to LNG; reducing the use of chemical ink on packaging, switching to laser printing technology; At the same time, promoting packaging recycling... Currently, the cost of investment in the environment accounts for about 3% of the product cost, but the company does not increase the selling price but instead reduces other items to compensate, ensuring business efficiency and sustainable development.
