Accordingly, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District said: "This morning, after receiving information about the incident at Tay Mo 3 Primary School, we were present.
First, I apologize for making parents worry and wait in the hot weather. After that, I asked the school to issue registration forms for parents according to their wishes."
According to Ms. Tam, after receiving the application, the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem district will meet and arrange according to the principle of giving priority to children in the right school area and living near the school, then the needs of parents in neighboring areas. Therefore, parents can rest assured.
According to VietNamNet, at 10:30 today, parents printed out the application and began writing their applications according to their wishes. However, reflecting to reporters, Mr. Le Minh (resident of Tay Mo ward) said: "Our children have had to study at Ly Nam De Primary School for 2 years now, the long distance is very difficult. My wish is that when there is a new school near my house, my children can study here.
In my opinion, students who have been studying stably at Tay Mo 1 Primary School should let their children study there, giving priority to students who are having to study at other schools, studying further away at Ly Nam De School, and then to residents of An Khanh area.
Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (building S2.04, Tay Mo) was upset, saying that when arranging students' wishes according to their school district, priority must be given to students who study near the school first. It is impossible for students to live near the school but have to travel 4-5km to another school to study, that is completely unreasonable.
"We need a satisfactory answer from relevant agencies and must arrange for our children to study in the right school district," said Ms. Hoa.
According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem district, there are currently 3 main groups wanting to transfer to Tay Mo 3 Primary School.
The first is students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 from neighboring schools who want to transfer to the new school. According to a preliminary survey of Ly Nam De Primary School, there are 233 students from this school requesting to transfer.
Second, students from other provinces and districts have just moved to live in apartment buildings near the school.
Third, students entering grade 1 this year but in the recent 2024-2025 school year admissions of the Department of Education and Training did not submit their applications to the school (some students submitted their applications to other schools, now seeing that Tay Mo 3 Primary School is in operation, they have withdrawn their applications to transfer back...).
According to the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District, Tay Mo 3 Primary School is a public school separated from Tay Mo Primary School and is for children in the ward.
After separating grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and recruiting new grades 1, the total number of students at Tay Mo 3 Primary School is 1,111 (divided into 30 classes), exceeding the target of a maximum of 1,050 students/30 classes.
According to the policy, Nam Tu Liem district strives to turn Tay Mo 3 Primary School into a high-quality school soon, so it is necessary to maintain the number of students according to regulations.
Meanwhile, all students (grades 2, 3, 4, 5) separated from Tay Mo Primary School and newly recruited (grade 1) are all students in Tay Mo ward according to the correct route (belonging to groups 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the ungrouped building in the urban area next to the ward).
First grade students are recruited according to regulations, according to the right subjects that have been assigned to the school with a registration quota of 400. However, the number of first grade students is exceeding the quota by 60, up to 460 students/13 classes. Those who do not submit their applications within the prescribed time are considered to have no need.
After the Department of Education and Training distributes the application form, parents of students wishing to submit the application will receive it, compile information, classify subjects, and count the number to have a solution.
Previously, as VietNamNet reported, on the morning of August 21, hundreds of parents in Nam Tu Liem district came to the gate of Tay Mo 3 Primary School with the desire to question the school about not accepting children with permanent residence in Tay Mo (houses next to the school).
Students have to go to Ly Nam De Primary School (located in Mieu Nha, Nam Tu Liem) which is 4-5km away from home, making it inconvenient to travel.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phu (Tay Mo ward) said: “My building is opposite the gate of Tay Mo 3 Primary School, but according to the announcement, my 3rd grade child still has to study at Ly Nam De Primary School. The school only accepts students from Tay Mo 1 Primary School, especially all 1st grade students are transferred. I request the school to clearly answer about the specific zoning? Why did they ask us to fill out an application to transfer our child's study wishes and then reply that there were no more quotas?”
It is known that the board of directors of Tay Mo 3 Primary School was appointed not long ago.
