Summer of border children
In the mobile swimming pool that has been operating for 8 years, children in Thanh Binh town, Thanh Hoa commune of Bu Dop border district happily dive, some groups look professional and some are unfamiliar with each swimming movement. Mr. Le Van Dung, in charge of Bu Dop District Children's House, said: In 2018, after 1 year of establishing the District Children's House, we proposed to build a mobile swimming pool located at Thanh Binh A Primary School. The swimming pool has attracted more and more students to participate in swimming classes. That is a good result to improve swimming skills, prevent drowning, especially when summer comes.
In addition to life skillseducation , the Bu Dop District Summer Steering Committee always cares for and looks after children in difficult circumstances. In the photo: Bu Dop District Youth Union Secretary Ta Minh Tam visits and awards a scholarship to Duong Ngoc Nhu Y in Thanh Hoa Commune.
For over 3 years, Lai Thi Thao Vy from Thanh Hoa commune has been learning to swim at a mobile swimming pool and has now mastered swimming techniques. Thao Vy shared: “Learning to swim not only helps me be happy and active during the summer, but also helps me improve my health and be able to respond to water accidents. During the summer holidays, my parents also let me attend other life skills classes and go back to my hometown to visit my grandparents. I find summer really interesting!”
However, in the border area of Bu Dop, there are still children in difficult circumstances who have to stay home to help with farming, or even work extra to help their parents cover the family's financial expenses and save money for the new school year. Duong Ngoc Nhu Y in Thanh Hoa commune confided: In the summer, many friends go sightseeing here and there, taking extra classes, but for me, there is nothing more I want than to find a job to help my family with living expenses. I really want to continue studying, so I will try to earn more money in the summer.
Not leaving behind difficult circumstances like Nhu Y, Bu Dop District Youth Union has maintained a scholarship fund, helping children go to school.
We have identified key tasks to be carried out this summer, which are to strengthen moral education, lifestyle and legal propaganda. Pay attention to children in difficult circumstances, ethnic minority children, and allocate resources to them. At the same time, strengthen propaganda and education on life skills, drowning prevention, injury prevention... We will deploy synchronously from the district to the grassroots so that children can have the most meaningful and joyful summer. Secretary of Bu Dop District Youth Union TA MINH TAM |

Strengthen prevention and early intervention to solve children's problems. Create all opportunities and the best conditions for children to develop comprehensively. For a safe community, each family needs to enhance their role and responsibility in managing and supervising children. Preventing and combating accidents and injuries for children is to ensure children's right to life. Not only authorities at all levels, organizations, families are also an important link in the process of caring for, educating and protecting children. Mr. Nguyen Van Kieu in Thanh Binh town shared: Every year, local authorities at all levels organize many meaningful summer programs and activities for children. I see that the frequency of propaganda programs on child protection, anti-sexual abuse, life skills training, etc. is increasing, creating conditions for children to have a meaningful and practical summer. As parents, we are always ready to accompany our children.
Binh Phuoc currently has more than 279,000 children, accounting for nearly 26% of the province's population. Of these, 2,804 are children in special circumstances and 8,153 are at risk of falling into special circumstances. In recent years, 100% of children in special circumstances have been cared for; 100% of children under 6 years old have been granted health insurance cards; the rate of malnourished children has decreased; the quality of education has been improved; the living and playing environment has been increasingly improved. Many action programs for children continue to be implemented. At the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children in 2025, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tuyet Minh suggested: Every cadre, party member, and citizen needs to raise awareness and take practical actions for children. All children, regardless of circumstances, have the right to comprehensive care and development.
From local authorities, schools, to each family, they are taking concrete actions to educate, care for and protect children. From there, it is a great encouragement for children, whether urban or rural, to express their desires and do what they love to develop themselves. Act today, build the future of children tomorrow.
