The exhibition, organized by the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 Branch, aims to introduce to the public typical artifacts of Vietnamese currency through the ages, associated with the development stages of the country. This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate major holidays and political events of the country and the City in 2025.
Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, emphasized: "The exhibition not only contributes to reflecting the history of struggle, construction and development of the country through the journey of Vietnamese currency, but is also an opportunity to educate about tradition, arouse pride and responsibility of each cadre, civil servant and employee of the banking sector."

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that organizing the exhibition is a very meaningful activity, contributing to introducing to the people and society the contributions of generations of banking industry in the cause of protecting, building and developing the country.

The exhibition displays more than 1,500 artifacts from 1875 to present, including Indochina banknotes, Uncle Ho banknotes, resistance money, promissory notes, purchase vouchers, coins... and current polymer money.
Each artifact is preserved as a living witness of each period, depicting the image of the country, people, culture and spirit of Vietnam, thereby creating a big picture of the historical flow of the nation.


According to the organizers, the main themes and display spaces of the Exhibition include: Indochina Money; Financial banknotes, "Uncle Ho" banknotes (1945 - 1954); National Bank of Vietnam Money (1951 - 1975); Bank of Vietnam Money (1975 - 1978), State Bank of Vietnam Money (from 1975 to present) and the digital space area.


Collector Huynh Tan Thanh, whose artifacts are on display at the exhibition, said: “Money is not only a means of circulation but also a poster to promote major topics such as "fighting illiteracy" and "connecting 54 ethnic groups". I hope the exhibition will help people better understand the history of nation building, resistance, nation building and founding of our ancestors and be proud of the hardships we have overcome.”
At the digital experience area (touch screen interaction), visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the "Tradition of the State Bank of Vietnam" space at the headquarters at 49 Ly Thai To, Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi and the exhibition space "80 years of achievements of the State Bank of Vietnam" taking place at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh - Hanoi).



Or Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space with the theme "Civil servants and employees of the State Bank, Branch Region 2, study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ethics and lifestyle"; digitize and publicly post administrative procedures at the State Bank, Branch Region 2.


At the exhibition, Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung also informed about the work of perfecting the organizational structure of the banking industry in 2025 according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW. Specifically, from March 1, 2025, the model of State Bank branches in provinces and cities will be perfected into 15 State Bank Regional Branches. Accordingly, State Bank Regional Branch 2 is assigned to manage Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province.
The exhibition is open free of charge on weekends, from 9am in the morning and 2pm in the afternoon, starting from November 22, 2025 until the end of April 2026. Vietnamese visitors must bring their Citizen Identification Card or VNeID, foreign visitors must bring their passport.
