Within the framework of communication activities under the National Program of Nghe An province on economical and efficient use of energy, the contest is a form of conveying to a large number of students some basic solutions on economical and efficient use of energy, the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy through multiple choice questions, visual and vivid skits staged and presented by the students themselves.
This is also an opportunity for students of Cua Lo High School to demonstrate their communication skills, artistic talents, and public speaking skills through competitions, contributing to raising public awareness, especially the younger generation, about the effective use of resources and energy, towards forming a green and sustainable lifestyle.
The contest consisted of 3 teams: Fly Away, Wings of Dreams and Green Messenger representing 3 grades of the school. The teams competed in 3 parts including: Greeting, Multiple Choice Test and Talent Test. At the end of the contest, the Wings of Dreams team representing grade 12 won the overall first prize.
The leader of the Center for Support and Consulting on Industrial and Trade Development said that in recent years, the Energy sector in general and the Electricity sector in particular have had rapid and relatively synchronous development in all sub-sectors and fields. However, the goal of ensuring national energy security still faces many challenges; domestic supply sources are not enough to meet demand, energy imports are increasingly large; many power projects are behind schedule compared to planning and plans; the efficiency of energy exploitation and use is still low...; meanwhile, energy sources such as coal, gasoline, oil, natural gas... are gradually depleted.
Promoting energy saving for students is a long-term investment. Knowledge about energy saving today will contribute to forming students' awareness of the goal of firmly ensuring national energy security, responding to climate change and protecting the environment in general in the future.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 32/QD-dated January 7, 2021 approving the plan for the program of economical and efficient energy use in Nghe An province for the period 2021-2025. The goal is to mobilize all resources to promote economical and efficient energy use through the synchronous implementation of tasks, State management solutions, technical support, scientific and technological research and product development, market transformation, training and human resource development... to achieve an energy saving level of 5 - 7% of total energy consumption for the period 2021 - 2025.
