Vietnam's number 1 defender was removed from the Vietnam national team by coach Troussier

On the afternoon of October 7, Coach Troussier announced the list of 28 players who will join the Vietnam team for a series of friendly matches in October.

Doan Van Hau will not be with the Vietnamese team in the friendly matches in October.

Notably, the player names were announced one by one in the same style as the world's top teams like Brazil, Spain or France often do.

Before that, the list of the Vietnamese team will be announced on the homepage of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Coach Troussier decided to remove 5 players from the list before leaving for China, including: Doan Van Hau, Le Van Do, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Duc Phu and Luong Duy Cuong.

The most regrettable absence of the team this time is defender Doan Van Hau. The star player of CAHN is injured and cannot play.

Meanwhile, the 28 names chosen are all familiar faces of Vietnamese football such as: Dang Van Lam, Hoang Duc, Quang Hai, Tuan Anh, Que Ngoc, Van Toan...

Another notable point is that in this meeting, coach Troussier created opportunities for many young players.

“The initial list has 33 players, this is a preliminary list. The reason I called so many players is because this is the time when V-League teams are preparing for the tournament and there are a few teams playing in the Asian playground.

This shortlist reflects players selected based on their fitness, form and performances during their time at the club. I do not select players based on reputation or name.

Players who are not selected do not mean they cannot play in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the 2023 Asian Cup or the next FIFA Days," said coach Troussier.

This October, the Vietnamese team will have 3 friendly matches with China (October 10), Uzbekistan (October 13) and South Korea (October 17).

As planned, on October 8, the whole team will leave for China to prepare for upcoming friendly matches.
