The landslide area from K8+100 - K8+250 is located in Dai Tan village, Son Thinh commune. The total length of the landslide area is about 150m, the landslide arcs are connected continuously, eating into the riverbank from 5-15m. The most dangerous landslide arc is 17m from the riverside dike edge, 30m long, eating into the bank about 15m. The depth from the top of the landslide arc to the current water surface is 4.8m; the closest landslide arc crest is about 1-2m from houses; downstream, other landslide arcs appear continuously, eating into the bank about 10m.

The cause of landslides on river banks and beaches is that the geology of this area is mainly sandy alluvial soil; the height difference between the river bank and the riverbed is large, the flow is fast, the opposite side has been reinforced with river embankments so the flow tends to push straight into the river bank on this side. In the past time, the river water level has always been low, the dry weather has lasted for a long time without rain, the soil is dry and cracked. When there has been continuous heavy rain in the area in recent days, the large amount of rain concentrated in a short time, the soil is quickly saturated and saturated, reducing the cohesion of the soil, combined with the low water level of the river leading to instability of the river bank and landslides. Households building solid houses in the area increase the load on the river bank. Assessment of the landslide incident on the river bank and beach in the area K8+100 - K8+250 is a dangerous incident with a tendency to develop further. If not handled promptly, it will directly affect the safety of the dike and about 20 households living in this area.
Currently, the People's Committee of Son Thinh commune has assigned functional forces to cut down trees and clear the entire area of the roof, dike foot, and riverbank in the area to ensure convenience for inspection and monitoring of landslides. Stringing ropes, placing warning signs, placing markers and markers for monitoring, and keeping a logbook of landslide developments. Carrying out roof tarping and load reduction. At the same time, temporary evacuation notices have been issued for some households in the landslide area from K8+100 - K8+500.
Faced with the above situation of river bank and beach erosion, Hiep Hoa district organized a survey, developed and supplemented a key dike protection plan in the incident area, and submitted it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval. At the same time, it prepared materials, human resources, and means to proactively handle the incident when it threatens the safety of the dike and people's property.
To ensure dike safety during the rainy and flood season in 2025 and the following years, Hiep Hoa Dike Management Department requested the Provincial Irrigation Sub-Department to survey and develop an emergency treatment plan with a number of solutions such as: Protecting the foot of the dike against sliding with boulders and reinforcing the bank to prevent landslides.
According to information from the provincial hydrometeorological agency, the water level on the main rivers of the Bac Giang provincial river system is slowly decreasing. However, the weather forecast in the province in the next few days is heavy rain. There is a possibility of flooding on the rivers with an amplitude of 2 - 6 m. The flood peak on the Thuong River, Luc Nam River, and Cau River is likely to be at alert level 1 to above alert level 2. Therefore, localities and dike management units need to continue to strengthen inspection, monitoring, timely detection and handling of dike incidents.
