Vice principal and teacher secretly teach extra classes in school at night

Vice Principal and teachers teach extra classes "illegally" in school

On December 1, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Vu Van Vinh, Vice Chairman of Hoa Lu Ward People's Committee, Ninh Binh Province said that the Ward Party Committee is directing specialized agencies to continue to inspect and handle individuals and organizations that have violated the regulations at Ninh Thanh Secondary School due to violations in organizing extra teaching and learning at the school.

The Vice Chairman of Hoa Lu Ward People's Committee added that the Ward People's Committee is assigning the Department of Culture and Society to propose administrative disciplinary measures against teachers who have violated the law. The Party Committee is also assigning the Inspection Committee to examine, verify the level and handle disciplinary actions according to regulations.

According to the report of Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Hoa, Principal of Ninh Thanh Secondary School, on November 23, the school received instructions from the Standing Party Committee and leaders of Hoa Lu Ward People's Committee requesting the school to check, verify, and clarify the parents' feedback on Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, Vice Principal of the school and Ms. Vu Thi Lan Anh (English teacher of the school) organizing extra classes in the school's classroom from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Upon receiving the instruction, Ninh Thanh Secondary School organized to verify the information through the professional team, colleagues, parents and students. Reviewed the commitments and reports that teachers signed at the beginning of the school year, then worked directly with Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly and Ms. Vu Thi Lan Anh.

According to the verification results, Ms. Vu Thi Lan Anh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly signed a contract to teach extra classes with licensed businesses (according to Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training ); and at the same time reported to the school principal as well as the ward People's Committee.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, the reason for organizing "illegal" extra classes at school at night is to "make management easier". The reason given by Ms. Vu Thi Lan Anh is that the registered business owner has to renovate the house for her child's wedding, and does not want the students' studies to be interrupted, so they bring the students to school from 7-9 pm on Friday and Sunday evenings.

"The fact that the Vice Principal and teachers taught extra classes at school but did not report it is against regulations," the report of the Principal of Ninh Thanh Secondary School clearly stated.

Proposal to warn teachers for violations

Recently, the People's Committee of Hoa Lu Ward issued a document requesting the Party Cell Secretary and Principal of Ninh Thanh Secondary School to organize a conference of the Party Cell, the Board of Directors and the school's Pedagogical Council to review and clarify the responsibilities of the collective and individuals for the illegal teaching and learning in the school.

Hoa Lu Ward People's Committee requests the school, based on Party and State regulations, to take disciplinary action against groups and individuals who violate regulations.

On November 26, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of Ninh Thanh Secondary School held a meeting to review the violations of cadres and teachers and the responsibility of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the school for allowing the above incident to occur.

The report of the school's Board of Directors clearly stated that the inspection and supervision of extra teaching and learning activities were not timely, and signs of violations were not detected early. The Executive Committee and the Board of Directors were still subjective, lacked measures to prevent violations, and did not have a firm grasp of all extra-school activities of teachers, leading to illegal extra teaching.

"The collective seriously reviews and draws profound lessons; commits to thoroughly correcting the violations. We would like to admit our shortcomings to the Party Committee and the People's Committee of Hoa Lu Ward," stated the report of the Principal of Ninh Thanh Secondary School sent to the People's Committee of Hoa Lu Ward.

According to the report, the Principal of Ninh Thanh Secondary School was still subjective in management and did not closely monitor, leading to violations that were not promptly corrected. The school's Principal asked for a serious self-examination and accepted disciplinary action.

Regarding Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, Vice Principal and Ms. Vu Thi Lan Anh, they have seriously self-criticized. In their personal review reports, they both realized that the above actions were against regulations, admitted their shortcomings, seriously learned from their experiences, committed to completely ending illegal tutoring, and accepted all forms of disciplinary action.

After the Executive Committee meeting, the School Board held a review meeting within the Party cell and reviewed it before the entire Pedagogical Council, voting to propose disciplinary action against the violators. The Party cell and the School Pedagogical Council unanimously agreed to propose a warning for the violators.
