Tan Lac District Farmers' Association has proactively implemented Resolution No. 04-NQ/TW of the Central Association, actively propagating, guiding and supporting people to establish linkage models. This is a "common home" for farmers in Muong Bi region with the same profession and aspirations, to work together to overcome difficulties, improve production and business efficiency to have a better life.

Once a particularly difficult commune of the district, Van Son has been adorned with the rich green of citrus gardens. Meeting Mr. Bui Van Cuong, a farmer in Xom hamlet, he said that when the commune's Farmers' Association encouraged him to join the professional tangerine growing group in Xom hamlet, he boldly tried his hand. Thanks to sharing experiences and applying advanced farming techniques, the tangerine garden has high productivity and good quality. Each year, the tangerine garden brings in 300 - 400 million VND after deducting expenses. This is an income that a few years ago, farmers like Mr. Cuong did not dare to dream of.

In Bac Thung hamlet, Quyet Chien commune, the story of the goat herd is also writing new pages about the prosperous life of the Muong people. Mr. Bui Van Luong is a typical character for the transformation thanks to the association model. Before 2018, Mr. Luong's family mainly raised goats on a small scale according to old customs, with low economic efficiency and high risks. "That year, with the propaganda and encouragement of the Quyet Chien commune Farmers' Association, I decided to join the commune's goat raising professional association model. From 12 initial breeding goats, after many years of learning and applying knowledge about breeding techniques and disease prevention, the herd has now grown to 36 healthy goats," said Mr. Luong. With the gradual selling method, the goats when sold are guaranteed to weigh 25 - 30kg, with a stable selling price of 120,000 - 140,000 VND/kg. The income from the goat herd has helped Mr. Luong's family life become more prosperous, allowing him to send his children to school.

From the practical and sustainable economic efficiency, the goat raising professional association model attracts more and more farmer members in the commune to participate. The model not only helps increase income but also creates a new direction, changes old thinking and ways of doing things, contributing to effectively eliminating hunger and reducing poverty for ethnic minorities.

Comrade Bui Van Thong, Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quyet Chien commune, said: "Initially, the branches and groups have clearly promoted their effectiveness, creating close ties between the Farmers' Associations when they have common interests, share the same professional roof, and progress together. The branches and groups of professional associations are both production places and "schools without blackboards" for the people, together building operating regulations suitable to the specific production situation of the ethnic people."

Monthly, under the direction and guidance of the district Farmers' Association, the branches and groups organize activities with diverse and rich content. These are sessions to share about the weather and farming seasons; lively "roundtable" sessions about the market, prices of local agricultural products, and how to approach new consumption channels. Especially, "on-site classes" about new plant and animal varieties, how to apply modern science and technology are presented in a familiar and easy-to-understand language for the Farmers' Associations of local ethnic groups. These activities have bonded members, given them the opportunity to exchange experiences, and improve production and business efficiency. Having a common voice and common standards also helps people's products easily access larger markets, without being forced to lower prices as before.

Up to now, Tan Lac district has 72 branches and professional associations operating in a variety of occupations. The establishment of branches and professional associations at all levels of the district's Women's Union has brought about practical results, contributing to improving the lives of the Women's Union of ethnic minorities in the area.
