Amorim admits Man United is the worst team in the Premier League since he arrived - Photo: REUTERS
Mr Amorim is trying to warn his players against complacency after the Red Devils took a huge advantage, winning 3-0 in the first leg in Spain last week.
They had previously let Lyon come from two goals down to lead 4-2 in the quarter-finals at Old Trafford before Harry Maguire headed in the winner in stoppage time. The Red Devils boss was not complacent at his pre-match press conference.
"If you look at our team, I can't say what will happen today. If you look at our season, anything can happen. Man United have to understand that one goal can change everything. We are fighting to win."
Manchester United suffered their 16th defeat of the Premier League season last weekend against Brentford, their worst performance in 35 years. However, they can still qualify for the Champions League if they win the Europa League.

“For me, at this moment and when you look at the Premier League, we are the worst team since I arrived in terms of results. That’s my thinking. At the end of the season, we could be the worst team in the history of the Premier League but we have a European trophy. I know this season has been disappointing. It’s probably the worst in the last 50 years,” Amorim added.
Bilbao will be without wingers Nico and Inaki Williams for the return leg, but coach Amorim still believes the Basque side will pose a serious threat, even fearing they could score as many as three goals at Old Trafford.
Man United will face Athletic Bilbao at 2am on May 9 in the second leg of the 2024-2025 Europa League semi-final.
