Two goals by Dinh Bac and Xuan Bac helped U23 Vietnam beat U23 Philippines 2-1, winning a ticket to the final of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament.

Evaluating the match, Coach Kim Sang Sik said: "I am very happy that U23 Vietnam won and got a ticket to the final. The players tried very hard, and I want to thank them. All positions played well, performing exactly as the team prepared before the match.

The players followed the tactics well. In this match, U23 Vietnam created many opportunities but missed many. However, I am very happy with this result."

The opponent in the final match is the winner of the second semi-final match between U23 Indonesia and U23 Thailand. Coach Kim Sang Sik highly appreciated the host Indonesia, he said: "We have not faced U23 Indonesia. I need to watch today's match to analyze the difference between coach Shin Tae Yong's team and the current coach. I think U23 Indonesia is stronger. Whether U23 Vietnam has to face U23 Indonesia or U23 Thailand, we always have to be ready.

Any opponent in the final match is very difficult. The important thing is that the players need to rest, prepare carefully and play confidently like in the semi-finals. U23 Vietnam is confident in meeting everyone. If we prepare well, we can beat any opponent to win the tournament championship."

On the other side of the front line, coach McPherson of U23 Philippines expressed regret, he said: "We believe we can win this match. U23 Vietnam is a strong team, deploying good attacks. We tried to break that but failed. Maybe U23 Philippines needs to practice more.

The U23 Philippines team has several players from universities. This is an opportunity for young players to gain real-life experience. This is also good preparation for the U23 Asian qualifiers and the SEA Games."

VFF awarded Vietnam U23 team 500 million VND after winning the Philippines. Previously, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team also received a bonus of 500 million VND after passing the group stage with 2 wins.
