In the group stage of the Southeast Asian women's football tournament, Thailand ranked second in Group A after the Vietnamese women's team. They need to forget the 0-1 defeat to coach Mai Duc Chung's team to enter the semi-finals to meet Group B leader Myanmar.

Commenting on this opponent, the coach of the Thai women's team, Futoshi Ikeda, said: "First of all, we are very happy to have reached the knockout round of the Southeast Asian women's football tournament. The players have played their best during the past time.
I am very happy to face a strong team like Myanmar. The whole Thai team is looking forward to the match. Through the tournament, we can see that the players are improving, so the whole team is preparing for the next match.
It is true that we lost 0-1 to Vietnam in the last match, but the whole team is focused on preparing for the match against Myanmar. We will enter the match with high confidence. There are many things we learned from the loss to the Vietnamese women's team and will improve to aim for a better result in the next match. We will try our best to win."
The Japanese coach also predicted the remaining semi-final match between the Vietnamese women's team and U23 Australia: "This is football so we cannot predict who will win. The Vietnamese women's team is the host of the tournament. They are a strong team and receive great support from the fans.
The Australian U23 women's team performed well in the group stage. No matter who we face in the final, we are ready to face them."

Meanwhile, Myanmar coach Uki Tetsuro said: “I think this is a great tournament. We have to face quality opponents. We feel very satisfied about that.
The whole team only has 2 days to recover before the match against Thailand. Therefore, we will focus on recovering first, then start preparing for the match.
In the group stage, Myanmar faced strong teams. I would like to send special thanks to the players and coaching staff, this is their first time participating in this tournament. We will build a clear game plan to prepare for the match against Thailand."
The match between Thailand and Myanmar women's team will take place at 4pm tomorrow (August 16). At 8pm the same day, the Vietnam women's team will face the Australian U23 women's team.
