Ca Mau organizes Marathon, attracting more than 6,000 athletes to participate

According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Ngo Vu Thang, this Marathon is held for the first time after the merger of the two provinces of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu and is also the first time the tournament is held in the old Bac Lieu province.

This tournament gathered more than 6,000 athletes, including professional athletes and runners who love running, especially many foreign athletes participating. The tournament has 5 distances: 42km, 21km, 10km, 5km and 2km distance for children.

Comrade Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, spoke at the opening ceremony of the Tournament.

This year, the Ca Mau Marathon is associated with a series of charitable, humane and sustainable activities in the province such as: Donating STEM practice rooms, granting Light Up Faith scholarships and participating in tree planting to restore forests. All converge in a common message: "Millions of steps - Light Up Faith, Nurturing Sustainability".

Each step of each athlete is supported by Petrovietnam and Diamond Sponsor PVCFC-Ca Mau Fertilizer, which is converted into 600 VND for the Lighting Up Faith Scholarship Fund. The total contribution is up to 60 billion VND, equivalent to 100 million steps of kindness, towards the future of poor but studious students.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau Province, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Race, said that with the theme "Ca Mau - Destination 2025", this year's race offers tourists and athletes the opportunity to experience the unique natural landscape, fresh climate and unique tourism products and culinary culture of the southernmost land of the Fatherland.

Accordingly, the Organizing Committee wishes to convey the message: "Ca Mau - A safe and friendly destination; a place where nature and peace converge". At the same time, it is hoped that through this Race, it will open up opportunities to enhance exchanges, cooperation, attract investment, create conditions for researchers, experts, and travel businesses to access, survey, and learn about the potential and advantages of tourism development, as well as other areas in which Ca Mau province has strengths.

This Ca Mau Marathon 2025 - Petrovietnam Cup brings many practical meanings, at the same time creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere among cadres and people after nearly 4 months of implementing the 2-level local government and after the 1st Ca Mau Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030...
