The province regularly exchanges information through official correspondence and sends New Year greetings and thank-you letters on holidays and traditional New Year, to demonstrate the close relationship between the two sides. The Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam and leaders of sister provinces have also visited and worked in Thai Nguyen many times, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries. On the occasion of important political , cultural and economic events, agencies, units and schools in the province that have relations with Laos organize commemorative activities and thematic activities with profound cultural significance.
In the field of education , Thai Nguyen always pays special attention to Lao students studying in the locality. Currently, there are nearly 1,000 Lao students studying at universities under Thai Nguyen University, 2 colleges and 1 high school, spread across four levels of training.
Regarding investment, many Thai Nguyen enterprises have surveyed and implemented projects in Laos, mainly in the fields of infrastructure construction, services, tourism and economic development. A typical project is “Mineral Exploitation, Processing and Export” of Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative, with an initial investment capital of 8 million USD.
In trade, import-export relations between Thai Nguyen and Laos continue to develop. By 2024, the value of imports from Laos to Thai Nguyen will reach over 1.9 million USD, mainly minerals for domestic production. Tourism cooperation is also expanded with tourist routes directly connecting with Laos. These activities demonstrate the sincere affection, attachment and effective cooperation between the government and people of Thai Nguyen and the country and people of Laos.
