The official welcoming ceremony for the Crown Prince and Princess is expected to take place tomorrow morning, September 21, at the Presidential Palace, chaired by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan. Before the welcoming ceremony, the Crown Prince and Princess will visit the Mausoleum and lay a wreath in memory of President Ho Chi Minh .
After the talks, the Crown Prince and Princess will visit Uncle Ho's stilt house and fish pond. On the same day, a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan relations will be held at the International Convention Center.
The Crown Prince and Princess will also meet with President Vo Van Thuong and attend receptions hosted by the President and Vice President of Vietnam. The Crown Prince and Princess, along with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, will attend the premiere of the opera Princess Anio at the Hanoi Opera House.
Japanese Crown Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko will have some sideline activities, visiting Quang Nam province and Da Nang city.
The official visit to Vietnam by Japanese Crown Prince Akishino and Princess takes place in the context of the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan being in a good period, developing strongly in many fields. In particular, the visit takes place on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1973 - 2023).
The visit of Crown Prince Akishino and the Crown Princess is of special significance, being the first official foreign visit of the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess after the Covid-19 pandemic, and also the first visit to Vietnam by the Japanese Royal Family in 6 years, since the visit of the King and Queen of Japan in 2017./.
