President Ho Chi Minh, the genius leader of the Vietnamese people , the one who steered the Vietnamese ship to glory, was not only a great journalist but also the founder and founder of the Vietnamese revolutionary press.
During nearly 50 years of journalism, Uncle Ho wrote about 2,000 articles, nearly 300 poems, 500 pages of stories and memoirs, with about 200 pen names. He left behind many great lessons about journalism for future generations.
Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day June 21, 1925 is the birth day of Thanh Nien newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, which opened a new press stream of the Vietnamese revolution, raised the revolutionary flag, expressed the will and aspiration of the nation for independence, freedom, and happiness; at the same time, enhanced the role and social responsibility of the press, and strengthened the relationship between the press and the masses of all classes and professions.
Uncle Ho once said: "A revolutionary journalist must have a bright mind, a pure heart, and a sharp pen!" This saying is considered a guiding principle for writers. Uncle Ho's teachings remind the next generation of the three essential qualities of a revolutionary journalist: a bright mind, a pure heart, and a sharp pen.
“A bright mind” is when the mind is not obscured by prejudices, helping people to perceive the world objectively and honestly, which is the foundation for developing morality and intelligence. A bright mind teaches us to practice an unchanging mind in the midst of the ever-changing world, a peaceful mind will have calm seas, an upright mind will have everything go smoothly, a mind that does not care about personal interests will have happiness and serenity, a good mind will always have confidants and soulmates wherever it goes.
“Inner heart” is the ethics of a writer, it is sincerity, purity, and goodness. A person with inner heart always values his own honor and dignity, never lets money buy him off and lose his noble qualities, always maintains self-confidence and a positive assessment of himself. Inner heart also contains compassion, knowing how to care and sympathize with others, especially the disadvantaged.
A journalist must have a heart when writing about an event, always put himself in the position of the person who committed the action, read the thoughts of others to sympathize with the pain of human affairs. A journalist must stand above all public opinions, look from many sides, maintain a firm point of view, to fully reflect the nature of the event, fight against evil and spread good things.
“Sharp pen” is a tool to reflect reality, from the past with a simple pen to today with many modern means of working, journalists still need great enthusiasm to inspire the younger generation.
From the knowledge in the university lecture hall to the reality of life, from the "battlefield journalist" during the war who cut through Truong Son to save the country until today in the fight against Covid -19, there is "White Blouse Courage" consisting of two parts: One is "The Doctor's Heart" which is the memory fragments of the author, a doctor and nurse who participated in the fight against the epidemic at the Field Hospital No. 6; the other is "The Pen and the Stethoscope" showing the perspective of journalists who are attached to and accompany the fight against the epidemic.
Most recently in the fight against counterfeit goods and commercial fraud, the portrait of the journalist appeared with full capacity, intelligence, morality, and courage to speak the truth in the trust, love, and sharing of the community.
Along with the development of digital technology , the press has made important changes by launching online publications such as e-newspapers to meet the diverse reading, listening and viewing needs of the public.
Traditional media such as print, radio, and television are shifting to multimedia platforms to reach readers through various channels. In addition, the press also faces legal challenges and constant changes in technology to ensure sustainable development in the digital environment.
If the treetop is the place where chlorophyll cells experience sun, rain, wind and frost, endure storms and rain with the desire to grow from the roots deep in the ground, absorb fertile alluvium to nurture life, then the pen is the place to explore new realities, discover sensitive issues of life, face technological challenges to maintain competition, most importantly the authenticity of information in the digital environment and even financial challenges for development.
Growth is inevitable in life. Every day we continue to change to grow and improve, so that the following days will be better than the past days. When we are willing to change to grow in a positive direction, the results will be sweet because what comes from the heart will reach the heart.
Each journalist's pen also shows personal qualities, especially the role of journalism in the new era when machines gradually replace humans, messages can be transmitted with just a few clicks, there are still journalists who work hard in the media, contributing to conveying the country's development aspirations in the era of integration, in the context of many social changes.
I wish you journalists to always be a bridge of solidarity, a source of trust and love for the people, always keep a bright mind, pure heart and sharp pen to contribute valuable works to life./.
