Also according to the representative of the Traffic Police Department, in the total number of inspections above, for the transport vehicle type alone, the units inspected more than 64,000 vehicles, detected, handled and filed a report on more than 3,400 violations, including 6 violations of installing non-functioning journey monitoring devices; using phones while driving in 126 cases (inspections were conducted through data collected from journey monitoring devices, devices recording images of drivers of transport business vehicles); leaving goods in the passenger compartment in 721 cases, carrying more people than the prescribed number in 345 cases, driving the vehicle beyond the prescribed time in 17 cases...

The above signs of “disregard for the lives” of passengers always pose a potential risk of traffic accidents. The Traffic Police Department also informed that the incident at 12:25 on June 14 in Nghe An province involving a truck with license plate 37B driven by Nguyen Duy H. (born in 1976, residing in Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province) is an example of driving while still using a phone.

For the above violation, driver Nguyen Duy H. was fined 4 to 6 million VND and had 4 points deducted from his driving license.

A representative of the Traffic Police Department assessed that using a phone while driving on the highway is especially dangerous. When using a phone, drivers can lose concentration, react slowly to unexpected situations; reduce the ability to observe and handle situations. This is also one of the causes of serious traffic accidents.

The Traffic Police Department recommends that drivers absolutely do not use their phones while driving, especially on the highway; if urgent communication is needed, the vehicle must stop at the designated place; equip supporting devices such as Bluetooth headsets if needed to use in case of real necessity...

The Traffic Police Department affirmed that in the coming time, it will continue to direct local traffic police forces and units to resolutely and strictly handle violations that cause traffic accidents in the spirit of "respecting the law, no forbidden zones, no exceptions".
