The ASEAN Youth Fellowship Programme is jointly organised by the Singapore International Foundation and the National Youth Council of Singapore (NYC), with the aim of building and developing a network of youth leaders across sectors in Southeast Asia.

Entering its seventh year, the ASEAN Youth Fellowship 2025 will bring together youth leaders for a seven-day programme that includes dialogues with national policymakers and prominent thought leaders, and intensive study tours specifically designed for programme members to key institutions and organisations.

By participating in the program, youth leaders have the opportunity to interact with each other at the Southeast Asian regional level.

Responding to Thanh Nien , Ms. Kerilyn Chen, Assistant Director of Strategic Development of the Singapore International Foundation, said that since its launch in 2018, the ASEAN Youth Scholarship has developed a network of 242 members from 10 ASEAN countries and Timor Leste. Among them, there are 20 Vietnamese members.

Through the network, young leaders share their commitments and promote solutions to common regional challenges.

One example of such collaboration is the ASEAN Women’s Empowerment Portal, co-founded by Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam and the Philippines, which allows women in the region to share experiences and learn from each other on issues specific to the ASEAN region, said Ms. Chen.

Through the program, some prominent faces of Vietnamese youth have had the opportunity to show off and try their hand. One of them is Ms. Jolly Nguyen, a 2023 scholarship recipient and founder of EVOL Vietnam, a social enterprise focused on reducing plastic pollution in the marine environment.

Eligibility criteria include applicants being between 27 and 35 years old, being an ASEAN citizen and a young leader in their field of expertise or community, and having the potential to take on leadership roles at a higher level.
