Ho Nguyen Nhu Quynh (student of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance) came to English thanks to the guidance of her parents since childhood. Starting with the intensive English program at primary level, Nhu Quynh successively conquered most of the English proficiency exams and achieved a 6.5 IELTS result at the end of grade 12.

Passion for music effectively supports Nhu Quynh's foreign language learning

Completing the IELTS goal before the university entrance exam is the path that Quynh's family has carefully prepared for their daughter. Quynh's father works at a university that offers exam preparation classes, so he registered her to study with the older students. Quynh recalls: "I was the youngest in the class. For 2 years, after high school, I rushed there 2 sessions/week to study English until evening."

For Nhu Quynh, being proactive in learning will bring joy, motivating us to constantly move forward.

Everything went smoothly, but Quynh's attitude towards learning English was not comfortable. She realized the benefits and opportunities of having a good foreign language, but with her free and creative personality, she still wanted to go beyond the predetermined framework. Instead of passively following the arrangement, Quynh chose to accept foreign languages ​​in a more positive way, returning to music - her long-time hobby. Quynh knows how to play and likes to play, loves to sing and dance, Quynh listens to English music more, studies English knowledge about music theory, watches reaction videos to have more analysis and perspective on a certain song... Thanks to finding a very smooth intersection between foreign language and music, her journey of learning English became more attractive. From this "touch" point, Quynh became more interested in Korean. She shared: "I like K-pop, I like the music of my idols, so I learn the language to better understand the products I listen to". Currently, Quynh's Korean is still at a basic level, the Gen Z girl has planned to focus on improving her level and studying for the TOPIK certificate exam in the near future.

Not only Quynh, many of her peers are also cared for by adults, oriented early on their learning path and personal development. Some adapt and fit into the pre-planned roadmap, but others feel uncomfortable and find it difficult to achieve the highest efficiency.

Nhu Quynh hopes that young people, especially her younger sister, will always keep the joy of exploring and learning. Regardless of whether they are given favorable conditions or not, initiative is the important factor to reap valuable experiences in the process of accumulating knowledge and growing up.
