The Academy of Finance has just announced its 2025 regular university admission plan with many changes compared to last year, removing and adding a number of new admission methods.

Eliminate admission based on separate exam results

In 2025, the academy plans to use four main admission methods, including direct admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training ; admission of candidates with outstanding abilities; admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; and combined admission.

In the combined admission method, the candidate's admission score is calculated as follows:

Admission score = subject 1 score (multiplied by coefficient 2) + subject 2 score + subject 3 score.

In which, the score of subject 1 is the high school graduation exam score in English (for candidates registering for the international certificate orientation program or the English language program of the standard program) or the math exam score (for candidates registering for the remaining majors of the standard program).

Subject 2 score is the score of physics or chemistry or literature or math (if subject 1 score is English) or English (if subject 1 score is math).

Subject 3 score is the average high school score (grade 10 + grade 11 + grade 12)/3 from 8.0 or higher.

Thus, compared to last year, this year the Academy of Finance will eliminate the method of selecting candidates using the results of the competency assessment test of Hanoi National University; and will eliminate the consideration of the results of the thinking assessment test of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Last year, the academy reserved at least 5% of its quota for candidates to participate in the admission process based on the results of these two separate exams.

Increase nearly 2,000 quotas, open 14 new training programs

The Academy of Finance plans to enroll 6,320 full-time university students this year (an increase of 1,820 compared to last year). Of these, the academy will reserve 3,300 enrollment quotas for international certificate-oriented programs; 2,700 quotas for standard programs; and 320 quotas for international joint programs.

In addition, the school plans to enroll 14 new training programs. Of which, there are 9 international certificate-oriented programs, meeting the needs of candidates for in-depth study according to world standards; 5 new standard programs such as data science in finance, artificial intelligence in finance - accounting, political economy - finance, law, financial mathematics.

According to the academy, new training majors are opened to meet practical human resource requirements with the strong development of the 4.0 technology revolution and artificial intelligence AI.

In the 2025-2026 school year, tuition fees for the standard program range from 20-28 million VND/school year; international certificate-oriented programs range from 50-55 million VND/school year; international joint programs range from 60-75 million VND/school year (joint programs with the UK range from 70-75 million VND; joint programs with France range from 60-70 million VND).

Specific targets of training programs and admission methods will be announced by the Academy of Finance after receiving guidance documents from the Ministry of Education and Training.

Admission criteria for candidates with outstanding abilities

To be admitted using this method, candidates will use the average academic results of 3 years of high school with 1 of the following 3 conditions:

+ Candidates who won consolation prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, nominated to participate in one of the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, information technology, English, and literature.

+ Candidates who won first or second prize in the provincial/municipal excellent student selection exam in one of the following subjects: math, physics, chemistry, information technology, English, or literature.

+ Candidates with IELTS Academic certificate with 7.0 points or more/TOEFL iBT with 95 points or more (not using Home Edition) or SAT with 1,450 points or more.

Admission score = 30 + (average score of high school year 10 + 11 + 12)/3.
