Innovation in thinking, technology and organization in journalism activities
The 2025 National Press Festival is chaired by the Vietnam Journalists Association and organized under the direction of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Taking place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press (1925 - 2025), the event also aims to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2, the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
According to Ms. Le My Ai Linh, Acting Director of the Vietnam Press Museum, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee of the National Press Festival 2025, with the theme "Vietnamese Press - Loyalty, Creativity, Courage, Innovation for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland", this year's Press Festival has shown a clear orientation on innovation in thinking, technology innovation and organizational innovation in press activities.
This year, more than 80 central and local press agencies participated in the Press Festival with nearly 130 booths. The press booths presented diverse forms and contents, reflecting all aspects of political , economic, cultural, defense - security and foreign affairs life. The editorial offices brought multi-platform press products applying AI, virtual reality, 3D modeling, holofan, etc.
The highlight of the event is the central space displaying the theme "100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press: Achievements and development trends in the new era" - where for the first time the history of revolutionary press is recreated through memorable milestones. The exhibition space, implemented by the Vietnam Press Museum, contributes to emphasizing the depth of tradition and progressive thinking of the country's press.
In addition, the Ministry of Science and Technology will issue a special stamp set to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, a cultural mark associated with technological movements.
Building on the success of 2024, Ms. Le My Ai Linh added that the Journalists Association will organize the 2nd National Press Forum with 12 in-depth discussion sessions, bringing together leaders of press agencies, famous journalists, and domestic and international media experts. This is considered a regional professional activity, creating a forum for quality exchange about the future of the journalism industry.
Discussion topics will include hot and practical issues such as: "Vietnamese journalism - Vision in the new era"; "Women's voices in news management"; "Developing young users"; "AI and newsroom strategy"; "Press data and personalization trends"; "How do podcasts and radio compete?"; "Strategy to retain TV readers"...
In addition to professional content, the Press Association also organizes a series of sideline activities to connect the journalism community and the public, typically the 3rd Journalists and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament, art performances, entertainment activities, and experiences for young people and readers.
The opening ceremony of the 2025 National Press Festival will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19 at the National Convention Center, broadcast live on Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam.
