On May 28, the Central Council of Theory issued an official dispatch to the Central specialized literary and artistic associations and local literary and artistic associations, universities, news agencies, and newspapers requesting submission of works for consideration for the award of outstanding literary and artistic criticism works published in 2024 and information to individuals submitting applications for consideration for support in research on literary and artistic criticism works in 2025.
The criteria for awarding awards are articles and works that have scientific value, contribute to theory and practice; are well-regarded by public opinion; have positive and timely effects on social issues of concern; are topical in literary and artistic life, meet the requirements of the Party and State's direction and orientation...; have the effect of contributing to the direction of creation, the direction of aesthetic values and effectively participating in refuting erroneous and distorted viewpoints.
Works considered for awards must be published in 2024 and must not have received financial support from the Council.
The subjects considered for support are those who have books and articles on literary and artistic criticism that are being completed and need support to complete the manuscript in 2025.
The theoretical and critical works and articles are intended to research issues of literary theory that need attention, current issues in life, works and authors that are receiving public attention. Topics and outlines that have been published or supported by other organizations and units are not accepted. The author has not received awards from the Council for works published in 2021, 2022, 2023 or has not received support in 2022, 2023, 2024.
According to Official Dispatch 1497-CV/HDDLLTW, the purpose of supporting works of literary and artistic criticism is to promote potential, encourage and motivate literary and artistic theorists and critics to research and publish valuable works, thereby contributing to improving the quality of creation, promotion and enjoyment of literary and artistic works.
The support will not be for full investment but will be partial financial support for the author to continue to complete the manuscript and for the publisher to print and disseminate works of literary and artistic theory and criticism. Accordingly, the specific support levels are:
Level A: Maximum 4 works; support 25 million VND/project
Level B: Maximum 6 works; support 15 million VND/project
Level C: Maximum 20 works; support 10 million VND/project
Applications for support must be sent before July 15, 2025, and applications for awards must be sent before August 15, 2025 to the following address: Central Theoretical Council (Building A7, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics , 135 Nguyen Phong Sac, Cau Giay District, Hanoi).
