Workshop on digital transformation of agriculture sector in Mo Duc district

(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the morning of September 28, the Department of Information and Communications coordinated with the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) and local authorities to organize a workshop on digital transformation (DT) of the agricultural sector in Mo Duc district.

Attending the workshop were Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Dang Ngoc Dung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Bui Duc Tho, along with representatives of the Department of Information and Communications, Mo Duc district, experts, and speakers. Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Department of Information and Communications Tran Thanh Truong emphasized that in 2022, the province has made many efforts in implementing digital transformation. Quang Ngai was ranked 26th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 34 places in the Digital Transformation Index ranking.

In 2023, the province will continue to organize many activities on digital transformation, such as: launching the digital transformation movement; communication activities, training for civil servants, public employees, community digital technology teams and people. Thereby, contributing to spreading digital transformation work to the village and hamlet communities with outstanding results.

Online payment via the National Public Service Portal in August 2023 ranked 15/63, up 9 places compared to June 2023. Quang Ngai is one of 21 provinces and cities that have completed the issuance of electronic identification accounts and has the highest account activation rate in the country.

The Quang Ngai Digital Transformation Week 2023 event takes place from September 28 to October 2, with many rich and diverse activities, demonstrating the province's determination in implementing the National Digital Transformation Program, expecting to have consultations for building a digital transformation roadmap and plan for industries and localities; creating opportunities for connection and linkage between digital enterprises and localities.

Officials, civil servants, public employees, economic organizations and workers operating in the agricultural sector have access to models, solutions and experiences from experts and specialized businesses in digital transformation.

Delegates shared useful information from Mobi Agri Disarmament to support farmers in digital transformation.

The workshop on digital transformation in agriculture in Mo Duc district is the opening session within the framework of the event. In recent times, the locality has had many activities on digital transformation in agriculture. The Organizing Committee expects this to be a bright spot in promoting the application of digital technology in agricultural production, increasing the proportion of agricultural product trade through digital platforms, creating a premise to promote the development of digital society in the locality in the coming time.

Vice Chairman of Mo Duc District People's Committee Ngo Van Thanh said that in the agricultural sector, the district has applied digital platforms in the production of water-saving irrigation and automatic irrigation; and applied high technology in flower growing in localities. There are 2 growing areas that have been granted codes, which are the An Mo vegetable growing area, Duc Loi commune and the rice growing area in village 3, Duc Tan commune. The locality also applies Drone unmanned aerial vehicles in fertilizing and spraying pesticides on fields in Duc Hoa and Duc Thang communes.

The forestry, fishery and aquaculture sectors have used satellite images and software to monitor forest developments and detect forest fires early; installed rain gauges; applied automatic shrimp feeders and water environment measuring devices in ponds and lakes. In particular, the local Vinamlik Quang Ngai dairy farm is a typical example of applying technology to livestock monitoring. Every step from diet to care, breeding and hygiene is according to smart agriculture standards.

Along with that, the locality also builds a digital model of records; database, evaluation, and classification of OCOP products. Subjects proactively promote and introduce products, provide and receive feedback from customers on digital platforms.

Disarming Mobi Agri supports farmers in digital transformation; Applying high technology and digital transformation at Vinamilk Quang Ngai Dairy Farm in Mo Duc District. The organizing committee has connected agencies, businesses and people to exchange and discuss, in order to analyze and clarify the difficulties and problems that need to be solved, and propose digital transformation solutions in the agricultural sector in the locality.
