On July 22, in Ninh Binh province, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the Women's Union of the Ministry of Public Security, Ninh Binh Provincial Police and the Office of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women in Vietnam (UN Women) to organize a workshop with the theme "Women, Peace and Cyber Security - Raising awareness and capacity for women and girls in responding to challenges in cyberspace".
Attending the workshop were Major General Ngo Hoai Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Party and Political Affairs, Head of the Women's Committee of the People's Public Security; Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Manh Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control, Ministry of Public Security; Ms. Gaelle Demolis, Program and Policy Expert on Governance, Peace and Security, UN Women Office for Asia and the Pacific ; representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union; Women's Union of the Ministry of Public Security, Women's Unions of 24 provinces and cities in the Northern region...
On the side of Ninh Binh province, there were Colonel Tran Hong Phu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police; representatives of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; representatives of leaders and experts of a number of professional units of the Provincial Police.
At the workshop, delegates exchanged, discussed and clarified the concepts, contents and implications of the topic "Women, Peace and Cyber Security - Raising awareness and capacity for women and girls in responding to challenges in cyberspace", focusing on issues related to the situation, reality, causes, consequences and harms of crimes and violations of cyber security against women and girls in the current situation.
Along with that, delegates also focused on analyzing and clarifying issues on the Legal Framework in the field of cyber security; Vietnam's current legal system on the issue of protecting women and children in cyberspace; Vietnam's national programs and action plans on women, peace and security for the task of raising awareness and capacity for women and girls in responding to challenges in cyberspace in the current context...
The Women, Peace and Security Agenda includes the following contents: Women, Peace and Security - 4 pillars and realization in protecting women and girls in cyberspace; risks and dangers for women and girls in cyberspace as well as opportunities and recommendations to strengthen cybersecurity, protect personal data and privacy in Vietnam's digital transformation process.
Some dangers and risks in cyberspace: Cybercrime and the situation of child sexual abuse crimes online; crime situation and risks for women and children in cyberspace, voices of women and girls in Ninh Binh on cyber threats and awareness of cyber security.
Concluding the workshop, Major General Ngo Hoai Thu believes that with the propaganda and practical guidance of the Women's Union propagandists at all levels, the meaning and effectiveness of this workshop will continue to be widely spread, especially in the awareness of students.
Also within the framework of the workshop, on the afternoon of July 22, experts from the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, representatives of the Women's Union of the Ministry of Public Security and representatives of the UN Women Office participated in a discussion between speakers and teachers and students of Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted on the urgency of cyber security issues for women and children in the current situation; types of crimes and violations of cyber security laws; agenda on women, peace and cyber security; strengthening cyber resilience with 4 defense elements (Prevention, protection, participation in school movements to end online violence, relief and recovery); safe cyber environment at home, school and community...
