National Workshop on the Project "Internationalization of Vietnamese Culture and Vietnamization of International Culture"

On the afternoon of May 22, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a national workshop on the Project "Internationalization of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamization of international culture". Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired the workshop. The workshop was connected online to 63 provinces and cities in the country. Attending at the Khanh Hoa provincial bridge were leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, representatives of specialized departments and affiliated public service units.

Speaking at the workshop, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that in recent years, Vietnam's advanced culture, imbued with national identity, humanism, democracy and science , and unity in diversity, has been spread to the world. In particular, many typical values have been recognized and highly appreciated by the international community, becoming prominent elements in the common flow, enriching the civilization of humanity. This is called the process of internationalization of Vietnamese culture. Along with the process of deep international integration and cooperation, Vietnam is gradually becoming an attractive destination for international cultural exchange, proactively absorbing the quintessence of human culture, welcoming development opportunities, overcoming challenges to preserve identity, and enriching the national culture. This is the process of Vietnamizing international culture. These two processes go hand in hand, actively complement each other, creating soft power, contributing to maintaining a peaceful environment, firmly protecting the Fatherland and positioning Vietnam in the international arena...

At the workshop, delegates shared contents related to the necessity of issuing the Politburo 's resolution on "Internationalization of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamization of international culture". In particular, focusing on issues of goals, tasks, and solutions for implementation when the resolution is passed. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also sought opinions, proposals, and comments from the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities on the Project "Internationalization of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamization of international culture". The project is expected to help Vietnam form cultural products and brands with quality and global competitiveness; aiming to build Vietnam into an attractive destination for cultural and artistic events of international stature.
