According to the announcement of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), it is expected that from 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, 4 State-owned commercial banks will start selling gold bars to people.

According to the State Bank, in addition to the four state-owned banks, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) will participate in buying gold from the State Bank to sell directly to people in 11 provinces and cities.

Vietcombank

Initially, Vietcombank will deploy at 6 transaction points in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In Hanoi:

Procedures for buying gold bars from banks

The State Bank of Vietnam notes that customers must bring their required identification documents directly to gold selling locations to make transactions, make payments in cash or by bank transfer and receive gold. Sales invoices are provided to customers who buy gold in the form of electronic invoices.

State-owned commercial banks only sell SJC gold bars to individual customers and do not buy SJC gold bars from customers.

Meanwhile, SJC company will carry out all transactions of buying and selling SJC gold bars.

In case of planning to buy gold in large quantities, customers should prepare information to declare or open an account at a state-owned commercial bank before the transaction or make payment by bank transfer for convenience and speed in the transaction.

"The sale of gold by state-owned commercial banks and SJC Company is to ensure the implementation of the goal of stabilizing the gold market according to the policy of the Government and the State Bank, not for profit purposes," the State Bank emphasized.
