More than 100 players participate in the 2024 National Go Championship

(NLDO) – The two strong teams of Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang are taking turns leading the rapid chess event in all groups on the opening day of the 2024 National Go and National Youth Go Championship.

On May 8, the 2024 National Go and National Youth Go Championships kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of more than 100 players.

Men's Championship Table

The 2024 National Go and National Youth Go Championships – Hansoll Textile Cup will be held at the First Hotel (Tan Binh District) with two competitions: rapid chess and standard chess for male and female players and age groups U11, U16 of provincial, municipal and industry units.

Go has developed strongly in recent times in Vietnam with the number of people practicing and playing it regularly increasing rapidly. This is an intellectual sport that helps develop logical thinking and intelligence, so it is suitable for players of all ages.

This year’s tournament was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Vietnam Chess Federation, attracting more than 100 athletes who are the country’s top chess players to compete. Hansoll Textile Group is a partner of the tournament.

U11 Boys' Age Group

This tournament aims to continue to develop the Go movement in Vietnam and to find good players to represent the country in international tournaments. Therefore, right from the first game, the players competed extremely fiercely, bringing dramatic intellectual battles.

The total prize value is up to 153 million VND. In which, the individual champion of men's standard chess will receive 15 million VND and the individual champion of women's standard chess will receive 10 million VND.
