More than 1,000 athletes participate in the 2025 National Vietnamese Young Entrepreneurs Pickleball Tournament

On the afternoon of August 18, in Hanoi, a press conference was held for the first National Pickleball Tournament for Young Vietnamese Entrepreneurs - 2025. The tournament was jointly organized by Tien Phong Newspaper and the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thu - President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Pickleball Club, Head of the Organizing Committee - shared: "This year's tournament aims at 3 important goals. That is to create a professional, healthy, national-scale sports playground for young entrepreneurs; promote the sports training movement, help young entrepreneurs live healthy, energetically to overcome challenges in the marketplace; expand exchanges, connect cooperation, spread the spirit of solidarity in the community...".

The National Vietnamese Young Entrepreneurs Pickleball Tournament is expected to attract more than 1,000 athletes, including young entrepreneurs from provinces and cities; artists, professional and amateur athletes from the country and abroad. The tournament will take place from September 19 to September 21 in Bai Chay Ward, Quang Ninh Province.

The draw ceremony for the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Pickleball Tournament took place on September 16. Athletes participating in the business category must be one of the following: Businessmen who are members of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of provinces/cities under the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, business leaders (from deputy level and above) working at businesses under the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, with a minimum of 6 months of social insurance participation; Members of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Pickleball Club

For businesses not affiliated with the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association: participants must be legal representatives, named on the business registration certificate and the business must be established for at least 24 months or more; Directors or Deputy Directors of banks, bank branches; Executive Board members of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Pickleball Club; artists, celebrities with positive influence; Professional and amateur athletes at home and abroad; international and domestic guests officially invited by the organizing committee...

At the press conference, athlete Tran Ngoc Trieu (nicknamed Trieu Badminton), one of the most prominent faces in the Vietnamese pickleball community, shared his story of switching from badminton to pickleball. "I used to compete in amateur badminton and had some achievements. Someone once teased that amateur tournaments should... ban Ngoc Trieu from competing. Then, I was inspired by Tran Hung Phong (nicknamed Phong Coca), also a member of the badminton club, so I tried switching to pickleball. When we first switched, we encountered many difficulties because we were used to badminton and were afraid of bouncing balls," said player Ngoc Trieu.

Besides Ngoc Trieu, some famous athletes such as Tran Huyen Trang (Southeast Asian Open women's doubles champion), Nguyen Anh Thang (nickname Anh Chu) also shared about their journey to pickleball.

According to the tournament regulations, the tournament includes 22 doubles events, divided into 4 groups: Movement; leaders - guests; artists - KOLs - journalists; businessmen (classified by age and level).

Matches are organized in knockout or group format depending on the number of registrations, ensuring fairness, professionalism and attractiveness.

The total prize value at the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Pickleball Tournament is up to hundreds of millions of VND, along with trophies, medals and gifts from sponsors.

For the business category, the prizes are divided into A and B categories to encourage both high-level athletes and newcomers. The prizes for the winning pairs are up to tens of millions of VND.
