(HNMO) - On the afternoon of June 12, 11,283 candidates registered for admission to specialized grade 10 for the 2023-2024 school year in Hanoi completed the specialized subject exams.
Previously, on June 10 and 11, these candidates took the exam in 3 subjects: literature, foreign language and math in the entrance exam for non-specialized public high schools. These are 3 compulsory exams for all candidates registering for admission to specialized grade 10 in the 2023-2024 school year. The admission score is the sum of the scores of the non-specialized exams (coefficient 1) + the score of the specialized exam (coefficient 2).
In the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi city has 4 high schools recruiting students for specialized 10th grade, including: Hanoi - Amsterdam, Nguyen Hue, Chu Van An and Son Tay. Each student can choose up to 2 out of 4 specialized schools to register for admission.

Although the number of candidates registering for the 10th grade specialized entrance exam is not large, the examination sites continue to strengthen security measures, ensure safety and maintain strict discipline in the examination hall to ensure fairness. The sudden heavy rain at the beginning of the afternoon exam made the movement of candidates and their families more difficult. However, the candidates all tried to overcome it.
Hanoi Department of Education and Training only considers candidates who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have taken all required exams, have not violated exam regulations to the point of having their exam results canceled, and all exams have a score greater than 2.
Admission is carried out according to the principle: Based on the admission scores to specialized classes, from high to low to meet the assigned quota for each specialized class.
In case of considering the final quota, there are many students with the same admission score, continue to select students in the following order of priority: Have higher scores in the specialized subject registered for the exam; have higher preliminary scores; have higher average scores in the specialized subject registered for the exam in grade 9; have higher average scores in the final subjects of grade 9.
According to the plan, by July 4 at the latest, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the exam results; from July 8 to 9, the benchmark scores will be announced.
