(BLC) - On June 8, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation (VBD) organized a training course on humanitarian blood donation.

Attending the training session were members of the Provincial Steering Committee for Relief Work, leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the Provincial Red Cross, the Provincial Civil Servants' Union and more than 200 volunteers participating in the Relief Work...
At the training session, trainees and volunteers were introduced to humanitarian blood donation activities nationwide and Lai Chau province in the past time. Along with that, the Organizing Committee also updated knowledge on propaganda, mobilization of humanitarian blood donation; management of blood donors at the grassroots level, basic knowledge of hematology. At the training session, trainees discussed and proposed solutions to attract people to participate in humanitarian blood donation, basic knowledge of blood donation and exchanged skills in propaganda and organization of humanitarian blood donation.

Speaking at the training session, Comrade Bui Viet Cuong - Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial Red Cross Society acknowledged and commended the efforts of volunteers participating in the humanitarian blood donation movement in the province in recent times. He also pointed out the current shortage of blood and blood products in the treatment of serious diseases and hoped that the humanitarian blood donation movement would continue to spread in the community - it is a noble gesture, demonstrating the tradition of mutual love of the nation.
