Although it has been implemented for 9 years, the project to expand Luong Dinh Cua Street, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City with an investment capital of 826 billion VND is still under construction and it is unknown when it will be completed.
The project to expand Luong Dinh Cua Street with a total investment of 826 billion VND aims to strengthen connectivity of the main road of the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.
Invested in upgrading since 2015 with a scale of expansion to 30m, extending 2.5km from Tran Nao Street to An Phu intersection, however after many delays, the project is still unfinished.
According to Dan Viet reporters, the project is located on the road, causing many difficulties for drivers passing through the area. Soil, rocks, construction materials... are lying around.
The road is less than 3km long but has many sharp turns, creating bottlenecks.
A few workers are leveling the ground inside the project.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Board - investor), the reason for the project's delay is due to problems in site clearance.
Accordingly, in this area, there are 64 affected households that need compensation, however, because of the lack of agreement on responsibilities among related units, in addition to the overlapping of an area of 22,000m2 with the An Phu intersection construction project, the construction progress is delayed.
Recently, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee send a document to the Prime Minister to report on the adjustment of the land area by 22,000m2. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport will be assigned to add about 10,054m2 to the compensation plan of the An Phu intersection project, carry out compensation, support and resettlement work according to regulations. At the same time, Thu Thiem Real Estate Joint Stock Company and related units will have to repay the compensation cost and continue to invest in completing technical infrastructure as required.
The People's Committee of Thu Duc City will be responsible for reviewing and renovating the remaining area of about 11,958m2 to develop a residential area, in order to facilitate the project's construction and improve the quality of life for people in the area. However, the proposal of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has not yet been approved by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
