More than 420 thousand entries for painting contest to celebrate 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory

Within the framework of practical activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Ministry of Education and Training presided over and coordinated with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Dien Bien province to organize the “Painting Contest for Children and Adolescents about Dien Bien Phu Victory and Images of Dien Bien Phu Today”. The contest for children and adolescents from 6 to 15 years old is held nationwide.

With the theme "Dien Bien Phu Victory and the image of Dien Bien Phu today", the contest aims to strengthen propaganda and raise awareness among teenagers and children about the significance of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) in the history of the struggle for national liberation of the Vietnamese people. At the same time, through the contest, schools strengtheneducation on patriotic traditions, national pride, gratitude to the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation; for the independence, freedom and happiness of the people. From there, educate students to be aware of training, striving to study, contributing to building the homeland and the country.

During the period from March 1 to April 10, 2024. The Organizing Committee received 422,562 entries from children and teenagers in 63 provinces and cities. Based on the contest rules and scoring criteria, the Jury selected 124 entries with the highest results to award 10 First prizes, 20 Second prizes, 40 Third prizes and 54 Encouragement prizes to individuals. The 10 Departments of Education and Training with the largest number of entries were selected by the Organizing Committee to award collective prizes. The contest's closing and awarding ceremony is expected to be held in May in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province.

Organize the "National Drama Festival - 2024" in June

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued Decision 1196/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing the "National Drama Festival - 2024". Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Department of Performing Arts to preside over and coordinate with the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province, the Viet Bac Folk Song, Dance and Music Theater and relevant agencies and units to organize the "National Drama Festival - 2024" in June 2024 in Thai Nguyen city, Thai Nguyen province.

“National Drama Festival - 2024” aims to discover new discoveries and creations in artistic work, honoring drama talents, thereby finding appropriate solutions and methods of operation to promote the development of the country's drama based on the functions, tasks, and actual conditions of each art unit.

The festival is also an opportunity for art units to seek, attract and nurture the next generation of artists and actors; an opportunity for artists and actors to exchange, learn experiences, cultivate knowledge, improve professional qualifications and the quality of performing arts to serve the people./.
