The Provincial Women's Union expresses its gratitude and shares its support with district and commune-level Women's Union officials ahead of the administrative area merger.
Memories of the festivals
It is often said that Women's Union officials are the people most closely connected to the daily lives of women, children, and families. This is indeed true. Many women have dedicated their lives to the commune not just through their term in office, but throughout their youth. Before the merger, the shared experiences of these women, who had devoted so much time to the Union's work, were filled with countless unspoken emotions.
The Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Binh Dai town, Ngo Nguyen Thanh Ngan, said: “For me, 12 years of dedication to the Union has been a journey full of memories, concerns, and love. From the early days as vice-chairwoman to the 3 years as chairwoman, I have grown alongside every movement and every step of the women. Now, as that journey comes to an end, I am filled with mixed emotions – nostalgia, longing, but also pride for having lived, contributed, and matured with the Union. Wherever I am, whatever position I hold, I will always cherish my love for the Union's work, the place that gave me my youth and the ideals to live life to the fullest!”
For Phan Huynh Thoai Tran, Chairwoman of the Women's Union in Tien Thuy town, Chau Thanh district, the decision to leave her role after 14 years of dedication was not easy: “I worked for the Women's Union from the position of vice-chairwoman to chairwoman. Now, I'm not moving to a new position but resigning to start a different job. I wish all the women good health, success in their new work, and that they will always cherish the time they spent working for the Union.”
Tran Thi Mong Thuy, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Thoi Thanh Commune, Thanh Phu District, shared: "After 15 years of dedication to the Union's work, I have to say goodbye and move to a new position. I can't help but wonder: will I be able to keep up, and what will my new colleagues be like? But what I'm sure of is that I will always remember the affection that the Union's leaders, the aunts, and the sisters have shown me. Thanks to the Union's work, I have grown and matured."
Transition - A New Beginning in the New System
This is a busy period for administrative work: handing over files, assets, models, projects, revolving savings funds, membership lists, etc. The work may seem purely procedural, but behind it lies the effort to ensure a "continuous transfer," to continue completing unfinished tasks, and to maintain and implement the movements.
Many association officials couldn't hide their emotions as they personally handed over each model they had nurtured – from core women's groups, the "Godmother" model, the "Exchange Waste for Green Trees" program, to savings groups and support for impoverished members… They entrusted not only documents but also a sense of responsibility and a well-established operational system built up over many years of care. Nguyen Thi Be Hong, President of the Women's Union of Mo Cay Bac District, said: "The handover process is not just an administrative task, but also the transfer of a vital lifeline so that the flow of the association continues, even as the area changes."
When one door closes, a new journey begins.
Conversely, association officials taking on new territories also face many challenges. The area is larger, the number of members is greater and more diverse, and the initial cohesion is still weak... But it is precisely in these difficulties that the resilience, patience, and resourcefulness of the association officials are more clearly demonstrated.
During this transitional period, women's organizations must increasingly demonstrate their role as a pillar of support and a keeper of the flame of solidarity among women at the grassroots level. This is the responsibility of those who remain and also the legacy entrusted by those who came before.
“We are going through an unprecedented transition period. But I believe that every Women's Union official, regardless of their position, organization, or location, will have the same heart for women and the movement. The Women's Union is where we have grown, dedicated ourselves, and become deeply connected. And it is from here that we will continue to fulfill our role well on a new, broader, and more distant path, but without being alone.” (Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union, Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa) |
