More than 5,000 people participate in the program "Moving Forward with Vietnam" in Vinh Long

On the morning of August 16, together with the whole country, Vinh Long province organized the program "Moving forward with Vietnam" in the area of Vo Van Kiet street (Long Chau ward).

The program “Moving Forward with Vietnam” took place at 6:00 a.m. on August 16 at Vo Van Kiet Street (Long Chau Ward, Vinh Long Province); practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

According to the Organizing Committee, more than 1 million people in 34 provinces and cities across the country wore red shirts with yellow stars, turned to the historic Ba Dinh Square to watch the national flag raising ceremony, sang the national anthem, and marched forward for a united, strong and sustainable Vietnam.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Minh Dung attended the program, along with representatives of departments, branches, unions and localities.

Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Minh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Le Thi Thuy Kieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, organizations, localities and more than 5,000 cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, lecturers, students and people from all walks of life.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien said that the program, with the goal of spreading the message "One billion steps into the new era", is a large and meaningful activity to encourage the movement of the whole people to participate in sports training, respond to the campaign "The whole people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", build the habit of walking to contribute to reducing carbon emissions to the environment, spread the spirit of positivity, responsibility and creativity to each locality, so that each step today is a solid step on the path of building and protecting the Fatherland.

More than 5,000 people participated in the program, including provincial leaders, representatives of departments, branches, localities, cadres, civil servants, armed forces, lecturers, students, pupils and people from all walks of life, walking a distance of about 1.6km, starting from the Provincial Convention Center to the beginning of the ceramic exhibition street and returning to the Provincial Convention Center.

Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, students and people of all walks of life in the province to participate in the walking activity "Moving forward with Vietnam" with the spirit of aspiration for innovation for a peaceful and comprehensively developed Vinh Long province in the new era - the era of national growth.

Through the program to introduce the beauty of Vietnam in general and Vinh Long province in particular through the project "Love Vietnam" - a place to connect emotions, spread the image of the homeland to international friends. At the same time, encourage people to experience and promote smart tourism through the NFC check-in system, contributing to building a modern, friendly and national identity tourism brand.

Young people and people took the opportunity to record beautiful moments of the first large-scale walking event held simultaneously nationwide - a journey of millions of hearts beating together - a place where all generations and all classes of people from urban to rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas converge.

“Moving Forward with Vietnam” is a nationwide walking activity jointly organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security, taking place simultaneously at 6:00 a.m. on August 16 at the central bridge point of Hoan Kiem Lake (Hanoi) and all provinces and cities across the country with more than 3,000 communes, wards, and administrative zones.

This is not only a sports event responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", "Moving forward with Vietnam" is also a journey of millions of hearts beating together - a place where all generations and all classes of people from the Central to the local, from urban to rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas converge.
