On July 11, news from Vinmec Phu Quoc General Hospital (An Giang) said that the hospital's doctors had just performed surgery to remove a brain tumor in the left parietal region of a tourist from Hanoi .

At the hospital, the MRI scan revealed that the patient had a meningeal tumor in the left parietal region, measuring 4x6x5 cm. The large tumor was compressing the brain parenchyma, potentially causing serious neurological damage if not operated on promptly.

Patient D.'s family decided to undergo surgery after receiving careful advice from the medical team. The surgery lasted more than 5 hours, and the doctors successfully removed the entire tumor, controlled bleeding well, and preserved functional brain areas.

Mrs. H. (Mr. D.'s wife) said that Mr. D. had been completely healthy and had no serious symptoms. When the doctor said he had a brain tumor and needed urgent surgery, she was shocked and confused because she was on an island. After the doctor gave her advice and explained clearly, the family felt secure enough to let Mr. D. undergo surgery. One day after the surgery, Mr. D. was no longer in pain and could walk and talk on his own.

The post-operative process went smoothly under the close supervision of the resuscitation and nursing team. "I feel fine now, I'm very happy, my health is recovering very quickly," Mr. D. happily shared just 1 day after the surgery.

Master - Doctor Hoang Nguyen Nhat Tan, Department of Neurosurgery, Vinmec Phu Quoc General Hospital, said that with brain tumor cases, the important thing is not only to remove the tumor, but also to ensure absolute safety for the patient, avoiding neurological sequelae as much as possible. What worries the doctor the most is how to treat the patient promptly on the spot, without having to transfer to a distant hospital in the middle of an emergency. When the surgery ends smoothly, the patient is awake, can talk and leaves no sequelae, that is the moment when the entire team feels the most relieved and happy.
