According to the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development, in recent years, the work of inspection and post-inspection of food safety in general and salt food safety in particular has been strongly continued to be implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and localities.
Inspection and post-inspection activities have contributed to preventing and handling violations of food safety, contributing to making the food market safer; at the same time, through inspection and post-inspection activities, proposals have been made to help state management agencies at the central and local levels direct, rectify and promptly handle food safety incidents.
The Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development has conducted food safety inspections of salt in a number of localities, collected salt samples for analysis, and the analyzed salt samples basically met the required standards. However, there are still a few salt samples with insoluble matter content exceeding the allowable threshold; these salt samples are all raw salt samples from salt fields of salt farmers.
To overcome the above situation, salt production using the right methods, techniques and applying science and technology in production is extremely necessary, on the one hand helping to increase productivity, on the other hand ensuring the quality and food safety of salt.
Therefore, the training conference on knowledge and techniques for clean salt production will help salt farmers, members of salt production cooperatives and local state management officials understand the knowledge and techniques for clean salt production and information related to legal documents such as: Preliminary report on the implementation of Decree No. 40/2017/ND-CP dated April 5, 2017; Draft Circular amending and supplementing a number of Circulars regulating the appraisal and certification of establishments producing and trading agricultural, forestry and fishery products that meet food safety conditions under the management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (salt industry).
